What's new in Aline
This release adds three things legal teams have been asking for.
  • Aline Reviews show you who holds the pen on every document, and Aline AI can do its own share of the review.
  • Aline AI now builds contract reports from a plain-English request.
  • Agent Connectors bring your email, meeting notes and, soon, the rest of your business systems into Aline AI.
Aline Reviews: know who holds the pen
Most legal teams track reviews in email threads, and you often can't tell whose turn it is. Aline Reviews fixes that for internal reviewers and counterparties alike.
  1. Counterparties review without an Aline account.
    Add an external email as a required reviewer on any template task. When the workflow launches, from Aline, Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack or Microsoft Teams, the counterparty gets a magic link. They open the document, comment on the clauses they care about, and approve or request changes. They only see what you share with them.
  2. Aline AI is on the review team.
    Assign Aline AI to a task like any other reviewer. The task description is its instructions. Tag a playbook, a skill or reference files, and Aline AI starts work as soon as the task opens. It can run your NDA playbook on an incoming draft before a lawyer opens it, flag deviations from your standard positions, or prepare a first-pass redline. Your team starts from the AI's review instead of a blank page.
  3. Every round is visible.
    The task shows who was asked to review, when they responded and what they asked for. Send a reminder in one click. When changes come back, you get an email and an in-app notification.
  4. Aline AI makes the redlines.
    Say the counterparty asks to move governing law from Delaware to New York. Tell Aline AI "change governing law to New York per the counterparty's request." It adds the change as a tracked change. You accept it and send the document back for re-review, all from the same task.
  5. Internal and external conversations stay separate.
    The activity feed has an internal lane for your team and an external lane for the counterparty. Nobody on the other side sees your internal notes or the AI's instructions.
  6. Hand off the pushback.
    If the counterparty asks for a lot of changes, add subtasks and assign them to your team, outside counsel or Aline AI. Tasks can now have more than one assignee.
The same flow works for internal approvers such as finance, sales leadership or the business owner. They request changes, you respond, and the task always shows whose move it is.
AI Reports: contract data in minutes
Questions like "which customers gave us logo rights?" or "what do our liability caps look like across MSAs?" used to take a paralegal and a spreadsheet.

. Describe what you want to know, and attach a sample agreement if that helps. For example:
Build a report on our MSAs covering expiration, indemnity, logo rights, and anything else relevant in our sample MSA.
Aline AI reads your documents and proposes a report. It reuses columns you already have and adds new ones for renewal terms, termination mechanisms, warranties and remedies, and anything else you asked for. It also filters the report to the right contract type. Review the plan, approve it, and run AI across the whole set. In the demo, it built a full MSA report across 81 agreements in minutes.
It's useful for renewal planning, audit and diligence prep, or answering the CFO's question before the end of the day.
Agent Connectors: Aline AI works where your work is
A lot of legal work begins outside the contract system, in an email with redlines attached or a call where the business agreed to terms.
Agent Connectors give Aline AI access to those sources.

Each connector has separate read-only and read-write permissions, so you can let Aline AI read email without letting it send anything.

Ask Aline AI to "look in my Gmail for the latest NDA redlines and apply our NDA playbook." It finds the counterparty's email, pulls the attached redline, and runs your playbook against it. You never download or upload a file.

Over the next few weeks we're adding connectors to the systems your business already runs on. Each one comes with the same read and write permission controls.
  • CRM.
    Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Attio and Zoho. Pull deal terms, contacts and discount approvals into a contract review without asking sales to forward anything.
  • Accounting and finance.
    QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Stripe, Brex and Ramp. Compare a vendor's invoices against the payment terms in its MSA, or check spend against a contract cap.
  • HR and recruiting.
    Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto, Deel, Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. Check an offer letter or separation agreement against the employee's record in your HR system.
  • Messaging and meetings.
    Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. Find what the business agreed to in a thread or on a call before you redline.
