AI Chat reads comments and makes tracked changes
Comments are where a lot of contract negotiation happens. A counterparty flags a liability cap, an internal reviewer asks for a shorter term, a colleague notes a missing schedule. AI Chat can now read the open comment threads in a document, work out what each one asks for, and make the changes as tracked changes. You review them the way you would review a colleague's redline, then accept or reject each one.
This is most useful when you have a set of comments from a reviewer and want a first pass of revisions before you respond.
Coming soon:
AI Chat will reply to comment threads, resolve comments after making the change, and leave its own comments where it spots something for a person to check.Salesforce custom objects in templates
Deal records in Salesforce often hold terms that belong in the contract, such as quotes, billing schedules, and other custom objects. Aline Templates can now pull that data into a document. When a workflow links to an Opportunity or Account, related custom objects appear in the template field picker under their own groups.
- Fill contracts from the source record:Pull quote and billing details into a template instead of retyping them.
- Handle several related rows:When a deal has multiple rows for one object, such as several subscriptions, a field can show all of their values as a comma-separated list, or you can map a field to one specific row.
- Line items and products:Deal line items and their products can fill an order form or pricing schedule at launch.
- Deleted records:If a linked record is deleted in the CRM, the workflow keeps the link, marks the record as missing, and asks you to link another one.
Values are read from the CRM to fill the document. Nothing is written back. HubSpot custom objects on deals work the same way.
Sync AI properties from reports to your CRM
AI Properties answer questions like "When does this expire?" or "Does it auto-renew?" Admins can now send those answers to Salesforce or HubSpot, so sales and finance see the key terms next to the deal without opening the contract.
- Choose where it goes:In a report column menu, pick "Sync to CRMs" and choose all connected CRMs or a single one.
- Aline creates the field:Aline adds a matching custom field on the Document object in the CRM.
- Answers stay current:Each time a document syncs, its answer updates in the CRM field. Renaming a property renames the field. Deleting a property removes its CRM fields.
- Status at a glance:Column headers show whether each field is Synced, Needs access, or Failed, with a Check again action.
Your CRM admin still controls field-level security and page layouts. After the field is created, add it to the page layout and grant access to the users who should see it. Only org admins can change CRM sync settings. Everyone can see the status.
Import AI Skills from GitHub
Admins can connect a public GitHub repository and import its AI Skills into Aline. Aline lists the skills in the repository, and you choose which ones to bring in. This lets your team maintain a shared skill library in one place and bring updates into Aline when you're ready.
- Choose what to import:Select the skills you want from the repository. Nothing is imported automatically.
- Daily checks:With automatic synchronization on, Aline checks the repository once a day, so you can see new and updated skills.
- Local edits:If you've edited a skill in Aline, importing the GitHub version replaces those edits. Earlier versions are kept.
- Removed skills:If a skill has been removed from the repository, you decide whether to delete it from Aline.
Minor enhancements and fixes
Document editor and signing
- Initials fields:Signers can place initials as well as full signatures on editor contracts and uploaded PDFs.
- Fill-in before signing:Team members with edit access can complete non-signature fields before a document is sent for signature. Those fields lock to the assigned signer once the document is sent.
- Bookmarks:A new Bookmark tool in the Insert toolbar lets you name, navigate to, and delete bookmarks.
- Small caps and change case:Word-compatible small caps, plus a Change Case menu with Uppercase, Lowercase, Sentence Case, and Capitalize Each Word.
- Cleaner web paste:Text copied from modern web pages keeps readable fonts, and shaded empty table columns are preserved.
- Signature detection on older files:Better stamp placement for documents with bare "Sign:" labels.
Workflows and launch forms
- Multi-select checkboxes:Checkbox fields on launch forms accept several choices, within the minimum and maximum set in the template.
- Conditional questions:Questions inside a dynamic block appear only when that block's option is selected.
- Workflow launcher as signer:The launcher now appears in template signer dropdowns, even before a role or assignee is set.
- Date formats:Launch form dates follow the date format set on each field.
- Reminder emails:Task reminders are batched, so you get fewer emails.
Reports and exports
- Related agreements in AI answers:Report answers can draw on related documents such as amendments, schedules, and master agreements. Answers include numbered citations and relationship badges, so you can see which agreement a term came from.
- Re-run only what you need:The run button in Document Summary respects your active filter, so you can re-run stale or already-run questions without re-running the whole document.
- Manual entry columns:Reports can include manual entry columns alongside AI columns.
- Parties column by default:New reports include the parties column.
- Readable Excel exports:Column headers stay readable in any spreadsheet viewer, and grouped exports keep the document name column.
- Smoother reports:The reports table no longer freezes while batch AI extractions run.
